Chapter 1: Low Tide Adventure

Alex and Jess were visiting the coast for the school holidays. One sunny afternoon, the tide went right out, leaving lots of small, salty pools on the rocks. These were called tide pools. Alex thought they looked like little underwater worlds.
Chapter 2: A Mysterious Find
They were searching for tiny crabs and colourful shells when Alex’s foot kicked something smooth and dark in the sand. He dug it out. It was a glass bottle, corked with a piece of wood. Inside, they could see a roll of yellow, damp paper tied with old string.

Chapter 3: The Map Unrolls

“It’s a message in a bottle!” gasped Jess. They pulled the paper out. It was a drawing. It showed three palm trees, a big rock shaped like a whale, and a dashed line ending at an ‘X’ mark. They knew exactly where the whale-rock was! It was at the far end of the beach.
Chapter 4: Following the Clues
The children packed their bucket and spade and walked all the way down the beach. They found the whale-rock. The map showed that the X was right at the base of the rock, where the sand met the pebbles. They started to dig, carefully pushing aside the wet sand.

Chapter 5: A Real Treasure

After digging for ten minutes, Jess’s spade hit something hard! Alex pushed away the last of the sand. It wasn’t gold or jewels. It was a small, smooth, wooden box. Inside, the box held three perfectly white shark teeth and one beautiful, shining, blue-green seascape marble. It was better than gold—it was a real beach memory, left by someone else who loved the sea.
